Dear Quads, I am so sorry…

I hobbled. I wobbled. I cringed. I lost sleep. I tried a hydro massage. I avoided stairs. I complained. But gosh darnet I am pretty sure I now have some seriously good looking legs.

If only it were that easy!

The other day I worked my legs about as hard as I ever have. I tried to focus on glutes and hamstrings but still ended up having my quads be my sorest part. It took three to four days to recover, and I’m still not sure I am fully there. I realize my legs are magically not perfectly tone, my quads are not popping like I would like, and my butt is not as shapely as I would have hoped, but I am one workout closer to my goal.

Here is what happened – I woke up and said, I’ll do legs today. I drank my magical juice – Creatine mixed with Muscle Synergy (If this is a terrible combo, please don’t tell me and let me be, I feel like a Mini Hulk on this and invincible) I ate my UMP pudding with oats. I put on my awesome new leg day hoodie and headed to Life Time. Yes it is 4:51AM and the gym is quiet. Love. It.

10 minutes on the elliptical nice and light to warm-up
5×5 Squats
6×8-10 Leg Press, adding a plate each set
Walking lunges 3×20
Plie Squats 4×12
Leg curls 3×10
Calves
20 minutes of steps

Then I think this is where I went wrong. I went back in the evening (which is very rare in the off-season, especially after a morning workout like that) and did 45 minutes worth of sprint intervals up the Stair Mill. But, I feel great, am getting stronger, and am starting to wobble and hobble less.

We have a love hate relationship.
