Stepping it up on the Stairmill

Endorphins are flowing – thank you cardio.
I am feeling absolutely energized after a butt kicking on the stairmill this morning. I completed a 45 minute step workout on an empty stomach. True confessions – I utilized a Crystal Light Energy Packet. My new workout plan for June has fasted cardio on it a couple days a week, but I may end up switching things around a bit and incorporating a few more. I feel incredible!
The gym was hot. Very hot! It has that stuffy, humid feel to it. But, for some reason a great sweat doing cardio feels amazing sometimes and this morning was one of those times. I hopped on the stairmill with the intent of completing 1 minute intervals of quick (not sprint) paced with recovery for 20 minutes and ended up going for 45 minutes. I got in the cardio groove and just went with it. Pandora was playing some great tunes and I was in my zone. I could have gone longer, but in the mornings, I get what I can get, and this morning, I just simply ran out of time.
I found myself clearing my mind of all kinds of random stresses, thinking through my work day and what I needed to get done, and day dreaming, but the entire time knowing my heart was getting stronger and my body healthy and fit. I left the gym sweaty and gross, but that is what showers were made for. Post-workout I enjoyed a tasty UMP shake and then headed off to a work meeting at Sunny Street Cafe where I enjoyed turkey sausage, egg whites, fruit, and whole wheat toast. Fueled up and full.

It set the tone for my entire day – positive, incredible start. I hope these endorphins keep flowing…the day is young, work is busy, but the sun is shining and I’m ready for whatever is thrown my way. I cannot wait to return to the gym this evening with C4 on board and ready to lift some weights. Yep, it’s an addiction and I love it!
