So here I am. August 29, almost a month after my last show…definitely in the off season and about to go to the beach. Ah! I should have stayed more on point, but I needed a mental break of measuring chicken, passing on every beer, never having a cheat etc, etc. I have stayed on top of my workouts. I love the feeling I get when I lift anything one more rep, add a few pounds, make it through spinning drenched in sweat, or battle Shaun-T and win. So I am off to Florida on Friday, after having eaten clean 90% of the month and pushed myself in the gym. I am so excited for the trip. Beer by the pool. Run by the ocean. Steak on the grille. Relaxation. And I am excited to get back, knowing I have new goals and new challenges ahead. So I am going to soak up the sun, enjoy every moment with people I love, maybe try a shrimp, enjoy a Bud Light Lime with my sister on the beach, and try not to stress about 4 days off plan. Yep, 4 days of “worry” free eating, drinking, and workouts. I need this. Training is so rewarding, yet so exhausting. I know my body was on the verge of breaking down, saying no more. I will most likely enjoy some healthy ezekial bread french toast or UMP (yes it was ordered special for the trip) for breakfast, a grilled chicken salad for lunch, protein bars (but they just might not be Quest ) as snacks, plenty of fruits and veggies in between, and salads and pizza for dinner. But I am going to try to forget about my macro and micro nutrients – because I know my body will tell me what it wants, and I know it wants healthiness. But I will enjoy a self serve frozen yogurt and I will enjoy a few beers. Here is a picture of me – 4 weeks into the off season – about to go attack some weights this morning – please check out my serious face. (I cannot believe I am making this photo public) But it’s me. I can’t change me. So I am holding myself accountable – and obviously am very serious 🙂 A few more days in off season, then what is it called when you aren’t necessarily in season, but you don’t want to be in the off season. I’ll call September-November my mid-season!
This is my fighting face 🙂 |
