Leave the tan up to Liquid Sun Rayz

Throughout this past year, I have taken readers along with me on my journey to stage – the triumphs and tribulations, the tears and the laughter, the friendships and the loneliness. Today I thought I would share with you a personal health story.

If you read my blog about a week ago, you know I went to my yearly doctors appointment. All was well, except my doctor noticed that I had a mole on my left breast that just didn’t look quite right. I didn’t hesitate and immediately (literally walking out of her office) called to make an appointment with the dermatologist. I don’t play games when it comes to health concerns. Today I saw the dermatologist and she removed it. Ouch! She numbed my skin, dug it out, and put a bandaid over it. It’s been throbbing all day but I know it will heal. I don’t have any physical restrictions and there are no stitches.

It wasn’t very big – smaller then the head of an eraser – but it was slightly raised and had a few dark spots that didn’t look good. I’m nervous. They sent it off to the lab and I should have the results in about 7 days. I’m sure it will be fine, it has to be fine. But I would be lying if I said I always took the best care of my skin, that I hadn’t been in tanning beds, and that I hadn’t been out in the sun and neglected to put sunscreen on at times. I like having a tan, but from now on I’m going to leave my tan up to Liquid Sun Rayz. It’s just not worth it. So for now I wait and hope, not only that I am healthy, but that maybe, just maybe someone reading this will think twice about hopping in a tanning bed or skipping out on sunscreen.
