Hello Monday, and hello funny looks.
My tan looked phenomenal on show day! It may have been the best one I have ever received from Liquid Sun Rayz. But, today is Monday and after a few showers and scrubbing, it is still on me. The only difference is, it is slightly orange and shiny looking. This will slowly decrease this week and I will become blotchy and then it will have faded away. For now, I am rockin the carrot look, and getting some strange glimpses along the way.
Today at work wasn’t too bad at all. Very few meetings and most of my closer co-workers knew what my tanned up look was all about. However, then I went to the gym. I wore all black clothing, knowing as I sweat this tan could wear off slightly and I didn’t want to run the risk of getting any on my clothes. So, I did some light leg work and charged up the stair mill. Threw some abs in for kicks. It felt so good to be back.
The looks kept coming. A few women rolled their eyes in the locker room, one lady couldn’t keep her eyes off me when I was on the step mill, and a group of teenage guys made some snide remark about falling asleep in a tanning bed. Whatever – ignorance. I am proud to be carrot like and proud to be sporting the after effects of a competition.
My entire evening was made as I was finishing up an ab circuit and one of the regular members came up and said, “You have really cut up this last month, are you taking anything?” I responded that it really comes down to a consistent and good diet and workouts. His response, “It is so refreshing to hear that. You look great. Keep it up!” I thanked him and continued on. It’s amazing how a simple compliment and acknowledgement that hard work does pay off, can totally improve your mindset!
Proud to be doing things the right way. Proud of my progress. Excited for further changes!
