It’s been pretty amazing watching my sister train for her first half marathon. She will be running the Columbus Cap City Half Marathon on May 4th, 2 days after her 25th birthday! 13.1 miles throughout the city. Little, as I call her, began her running regimen in January, slowly building up her endurance, and I was extremely impressed with the 10 mile run she pulled off last week. I respect her training so much! I cannot wait to cheer her on and celebrate afterwards!
Little and me! Thanks Rick Lohre! |
She has never been too into weights like me, but always into a healthy, vegetarian lifestyle, active, and is always willing to try new workouts. So when I brought up the idea of a spin class at LA Fitness where I workout, she was all in! With her training regimen, she mixes in cross-training workouts as well, and spin fit in perfectly. This evening, we spun our legs out! The class was full, the instructor terrific and ensured we had our bikes set up properly and comfortably, and pushed us through a tough and fun class. The hour literally flew by, full of hills, sprints, jumps, climbs…
It was so much fun! We got to spend some sisterly time together, she got to visit my home away from home, we burned a lot of calories and worked to shape our legs, and we threw in some abdominal work at the end. What a phenomenal evening! Love sister time. Love workout time. Love the positive changes we both are seeing – mental, physical, emotional!
23 days out from the Cap City Half Marathon and 16 days out from the NPC Derby. Exciting weeks to come!!!
