Is that a cooler? What’s in your lunchbox? Why do you eat THAT? These are the questions I answer on a daily basis regarding my lifestyle choice of bringing my food with me. While many of my co-workers and friends now know what I am doing and why I eat out of Ziploc containers, others often ask questions.
Most of the time when I explain that I am training for a figure show and this is part of my lifestyle, they are intrigued. They ask what types of food I eat, how much I eat, and if I ever get tired of chicken. I never mind answering their questions. Then there are others who say, I could never do that or you’re missing out on life. I tend to disagree, but I keep my mouth shut. I’m used to it. I don’t judge their choices, I don’t offer advice unless asked, and I don’t skip social events based on food and alcohol, I just make different choices. I carry a lunchbox, not extra weight. I’m ok with that.
And I have to say, I am very proud of my lunchbox (It also happens to be a $4 lunch tote from Old Navy that holds 4-5 meals – yep steal of a deal right there!)
