I blog for myself. It’s my accountability, it’s my journey, it’s my memories, it’s my struggles, and it’s my successes. It is all published on the Internet, wide open for the world to see if they choose.
I don’t blog to impress anyone. I don’t blog to try and tell people that I know best. I don’t blog for attention. I blog for myself.
When I started training for my first show, my dad told me to start a blog. I actually took his advice and here we are. My blogs are random, some weeks I write often, and others I don’t feel I have much to share. But, I blog.
It’s incredible to me that people actually read it! I will blog on anything from my favorite sweat pants to a new UMP recipe to how I feel about my workouts and body. I just blog. It’s blunt and honest – just like me.
Sometimes writing I giggle at myself and other times I am a mess of tears. It is an emotional event when I read back through them – it’s so honest and real that it makes me laugh and cry, and reminds me constantly how truly lucky I am.
I am beyond thankful that my dad is constantly encouraging and challenging me. This blog was one of his best ideas yet. Forever thankful for the idea and proud of myself for putting “me” out there for the world to meet.
Considering a blog? Just do it – you don’t have to share it. If you feel compelled to, utilize a free blogging site and see what happens. It’s fun, it’s freeing, and it’s empowering to know that someone out there may have been inspired to eat one more clean meal or hit the gym based on what I wrote.
Blogging along…
